Suoi Tien park

Suoi Tien Cultural Theme Park is a Vietnamese water-filled fantasy land, located rather unromantically next to a rubbish dump 15 kilometres South of Ho Chi Minh City. Suoi Tien, or "the fairy stream," is the world's first water park devoted to Buddhism, specifically the Southeast Asian animistic form of Buddhism. The animism works well for the theme park; instead of Mickey and Daffy, Suoi Tien has chosen the Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise, and Phoenix as its sacred animals, used thematically throughout the massive water park. Furthermore, workers in golden monkey outfits roam the park taking pictures with visitors and causing "mischief."

The park focuses on Vietnamese history, folklore, and of course on the Buddha himself. Among the parks many features are an oversized golden dragon whose mouth contains a neon haloed shrine to Buddha, avenues lined with pillars in the shape of giant elephant tusks, a swimming pool surrounded by a massive concrete facade of dragons and a giant rotating frog sculpture at the entrance. Particularly delightful are the twelve story face's of the Buddhist sages - with water slides emerging from their beards.

Children might enjoy a dog or turtle shaped boat ride around the island pavilions. But, beware the cutely-named Palace of Unicorns which contains a surprisingly gory house of horrors within. Perhaps the strangest and most unnerving feature of the enormous park is the crocodile kingdom. A pond with over 1,500 live crocodiles, visitors are invited to feed them with raw meat attached to fishing poles.

The whole thing is quite impressive and constructed on a huge scale. Although, the lax safety controls -acres of wet, slippery concrete, low hanging stalactites in the cavern water slides, and the bay of crocodiles- remind you that you are not in Disneyland anymore.

Phong Nha-Ke Bang in VietNam

The Phong Nha Nature Reserve is situated on the edge of the Phong Nha/Ke Bang Karst plateau in central Viet Nam. It is only part of the total plateau, which extends to and adjoins the Hin Namno karst of the Lao PDR. Phong Nha contains many large and spectacular caves. The karst landscape is an extremely complex and ancient one, with high geodiversity and some geomorphic features of considerable significance. It has an Earth crust development history from the Ordovician period (464 million years ago). This has produced three types of topography and geomorphology. One type is the non-karst landforms, which consist of low, round-top mountains with planation surfaces and abrasion-accumulation terraces along the valleys of the Son and Chay rivers and at the margins of the central limestone massif. The other major type is karst landforms, which are characterized by old tropical karst mainly from the Mezozoic era, but two-thirds of the site consists of karst from the Cenozoic. Extensive transitional landforms comprise an extremely complex intercalation of limestone massifs and terrigenous terrain with a diversity of rock types. The limestone occupies an area of about 200,000 ha, with a similar adjacent area in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and its highest point is 1,290 m above sea level.
The karst formation process has resulted in many features such as underground rivers, dry caves, terraced caves, suspended caves, dendritic caves and intersecting caves. The active river caves are divided into the nine caves of the Phong Nha system discharging to the Son River, and the eight caves of the Vom system discharging to the Chay River. The Phong Nha Cave is the most famous in the entire system, with a currently surveyed length of 44.5 km. Its entrance is the last part of an underground river that connects with the Son River and tour boats can penetrate inside to a distance of 1,500 m. Other extensive caves include the Vom cave at 15 km in length and the Hang Khe Rhy cave with a length of 18,902 m.
Some 92% of the park is covered by tropical forest, 92.2% of which is primary forest. By far the largest vegetation type is tropical dense moist evergreen forest on limestone. Although this was severely damaged by fire during the war, it is recovering rapidly and is now in a healthy state. It has a high level of faunal diversity and there are many vascular plants.

A total of 568 vertebrate species have been recorded in the site, comprising 113 mammals, 81 reptiles and amphibians, 302 birds and 72 fish. The fauna is typical of the limestone karst forests of the Annamite mountains. The high mammal species richness includes threatened species such as tiger, Asiatic black bear, Asian elephant, giant muntjac, Asian wild dog, gaus, and the newly discovered sao la. The site is particularly rich in primates, with 10 species and subspecies forming 45% of the total number of species in Viet Nam.
The Phong Nha-Ke Bang karst has evolved since the Palaeozoic era and so is the oldest major karst area in Asia. It has been subject to massive tectonic changes. The karst landscape of the park is extremely complex with high geodiversity and many geomorphic features of considerable significance.
The limestones of Phong Nha are interbedded with a number of other rocks. There is also strong evidence that sulphurous solution and hydrothermal action have played an important role in shaping the broad-scale landscape and the caves. The incorporation of the Ke Bang forest into the park has added another very important dimension.
This sector has many 'fossil' caves at a high level, which occur when the groundwater and rivers move to a lower level. Only a very few have been visited to date. It is one of the most important eco-regions of the Indo-Pacific. A large number of faunal and floral species occurs in the park, including some endemic to the site.

Ao Vua tourist

It’s almost impossible to believe the geographic elements that carved the waterfalls, streams and pools into the mountains in Ba Vi District, Hanoi, were just an accident of nature. In fact, local legend has quite a different explanation as to why the Ao Vua tourist site is so breath-takingly beautiful.Stretching across an area of 128ha, Ao Vua attracts 10,000 visitors each day, says director Chu Van Tuan. "It only takes an hour and a half to get here from the centre of Hanoi," he says. "So it’s a popular weekend getaway for many people in the city."The area is famous for its five waterfalls that tumble down the mountainside, 300m above sea level. As well as having a paddle in the fresh, cool water, visitors also head to Mountain God Temple on Pine Hill, to find out more about Ao Vua’s enchanting beginnings.Legend has it that centuries ago, the 18th Hung King had a beautiful daughter. The Mountain God and the Water God both fell in love with her and vowed to fight each other until the weakest rival fell. It was an impressive competition. The Mountain God lifted a giant rock, leaving an enormous pit at the foot of the mountainside. Not to be outdone, the Water God filled the hole with water, creating a giant pool. But it wasn’t quite impressive enough and the Mountain God got the girl – and the kingdom. After many years of peaceful rule, the God and his wife took a final dip in the pool and flew into the heavens.

"That’s where the pond’s name comes from, Ao Vua, which means the ‘pond of the King," Tuan says.So for a regal day out, tourists can take a dip in the true blue waters. But to make sure the story of the Mountain God’s final bath isn’t taken too literally, there are plenty of staff on duty in case of accidents, the director says.
Honoring another folk tale is a garden dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Among displays of traditional costumes are statues of the fairy Au Co and Dragon God Lac Long Quan. According to the legend, the country’s ethnic groups are the children of a marriage between the fairy and the dragon. There’s also the chance to get up-close and personal with wild life at the site’s animal park, where visitors can feed the resident foxes, civet-cats, bears, monkeys and lots of different kinds of birds. To develop the site, Ao Vua JSC has invested VND60 billion (nearly US$3,75 million) since 1988. Today the annual turnover is VND10 billion (nearly US$58,900). "Tourists often stay two days at one of our hotels and one night camping," Tuan says."Our latest project is to build new hotels with 30 luxury rooms for visitors. At the moment we have 30 rooms from between VND200,000 ($12) and VND250,000 ($15) per night ($15). Our aim is to develop services to get tourists staying here for longer."The site has certainly been a big hit with Hanoian Ha Van Trinh, who is on his second visit to the site. "I came here once four years ago with my friends and had a great time. The service was good and the sights were well-worth it. Now I’ve come back with my new wife so she can have fun here too. There’s been a lot of development, which is good for visitors, but I hope it won’t impact the natural surroundings too much."

Specialty Dishes of Can Tho, Vietnam

Can Tho is not only famous for vast paddy fields and huge expanses of water, but also for its delicious food which attracts a great number of tourists to this area.

Specialty Dishes of Can Tho, Vietnam
Can Tho is the centre of southwest Vietnam’s fertile delta land, producing an amazing variety of fruits, vegetables, meat and fish which are the basis of the many regional specialties. Most ingredients used in Can Tho’s specialty dishes are produced locally, such as the sticky rice, and many dishes are typically followed up with fresh, local vegetables.
The “cakes” in this area are truly a treat. Although they are more of a snack than a full meal, anyone visiting Can Tho should not miss the chance to try them.
Cong cake (Tet cake)
Cong cake is popular, cheap and delicious. Once you try it, you won’t forget its taste and flavour. Local people consider it an extra meal, to enjoy in the late afternoon or late evening.
The form used to make cong cake is a small, deep tool shaped much like a coffee filter, but with a long handle like a big soup spoon.
Biting into this purple cake, you can feel the heavy sticky rice, taste the nutritious sweetness of meat, and get the flavour of salted egg on the tip of your tongue. There is another type of Tet cake made with white and black bean with fatty banana filling, one more of the panoply of traditional Vietnamese cakes.
Well known local producers of Tet cake include Chinh Cam and Tu Dep, companies whose products are sold daily in the local markets like Xuan Khanh, An Thoi and Mit Nai. Many tourists come to know and recognize the brands of the original manufacturers to buy for gifts.
Baked cassava and coconut cake
This popular cake is found throughout the rural hamlets of Can Tho Province. Whether you are strolling leisurely along Ninh Kieu Pier to catch the fresh breeze off the water, or walking in front of a school while visiting a small hamlet, you will quite easily find this type of countryside cake.
The process to make the cake is simple. Cassava is boiled until soft, then put in a mortar, kneaded and mixed with fresh coconut. When the mixture becomes firm and smooth enough it is spread on a tray, then after the surface is dry it is cut into pieces. Small pieces of cake are baked on a coal cooking fire until the two sides are yellow; the cake now emits the most mouth-watering aroma. The taste combination between fresh coconut and cassava is really unforgettable.
Although it is just to hold you over between meals, this popular cake with a deceptively simple taste becomes unexpectedly delicious and is positively irresistible on rainy days when you are travelling far from home.

This figure shows that Vietnam was the traveler more options are popular tourist destinations and attractions. Most tourists coming to Vietnam have spent a certain time to get to sapa admire stunning beauty of this valley.

Sapa of Viet Nam.
Often considered the number two destination in Vietnam behind Halong Bay is Sapa.  The Northern mountain town is the go to spot for trekking, near immeasurable quantity of rice terraces, and visiting local tribal villages.  Of course, visiting Sapa at any time of the year puts you in for a very high risk of being caught in the frequent rain storms the region enjoys.  This shouldn't be a deterrent, as hiking in Sapa was one of my favorite experiences, even if it did require a bit of extra preparation when rainy.
Sapa, Queen of the mountains.

The Queen of the Mountains, Sapa sits regally overlooking a beautiful valley, lofty mountains towering over the town on all sides. Welcome to the destination in northwest Vietnam, gateway to another world of mysterious minority cultures and luscious landscapes. The spectacular scenery that surrounds Sapa includes cascading rice terraces that spill down the mountains like a patchwork quilt. The mountains are often shrouded in mist that rolls back and forth along the peaks, offering tantalizing glimpses of what lies in wait on a clear day. The valleys and villages around Sapa are home to a host of hill-tribe people who wander in to town to buy, sell and trade.
A recent survey released by the Sapa Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism showed that among 600 foreign tourists in a random interview, 23% said that they came back Sapa for the second time and 20% appeared for the third time.
The number of foreign tourists who came to Sapa for recreation and ecotourism made up 74% and almost all of them were from England, France, Russia, the US, Australia and New Zealand.
Have you ever come to Sapa? I sure you will be not frustration when come here. Well come to Viet Nam!

Hoa Lo Prison

Just 5 minutes away from the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, Hoa Lo Prison is well worth a visit.

The name Hoa Lo, commonly translated as "fiery furnace" or even "Hell's hole", also means "stove". The name originated from the street name "Pho Hoa Lo", due to the concentration of stores selling wood stoves and coal-fire stoves along the street from pre-colonial times.
The prison was built in Hanoi by the French, in dates ranging from 1886–1889 to 1898 to 1901, when Vietnam was still part of French Indochina. The French called the prison Maison Centrale - a traditional euphemism to denote prisons in France. It was located near Hanoi's French Quarter. It was intended to hold Vietnamese prisoners, particularly political prisoners agitating for independence who were often subject to torture and execution. A 1913 renovation expanded its capacity from 460 inmates to 600. It was nevertheless often overcrowded, holding some 730 prisoners on a given day in 1916, a figure which would rise to 895 in 1922 and 1,430 in 1933. By 1954 it held more than 2000 people; with its inmates held in subhuman conditions, it had become a symbol of colonialist exploitation and of the bitterness of the Vietnamese towards the French.
Known widely by the nickname ‘Hanoi Hilton’ given to it by the Americans during the Second Indochina War, Hoa Lo Prison was originally established by the French colonial government in 1896 for the purpose of detaining political prisoners and formed part of a northern network of ‘unjust and cruel prisons’ which included Cao Bang, Son La, Lai Chau and Hai Phong. Many leading revolutionaries were incarcerated here during the French colonial period, including Phan Boi Chau, Hoang Trong Mau, Luong Van Can, Nguyen Quyen, Nguyen Luong Bang and five future General Secretaries of the Communist Party - Nguyen Van Cu, Le Duan, Truong Chinh, Nguyen Van Linh and Do Muoi. Between 1964 and 1973 the prison’s inmates included several captured American pilots, notably Senator John McCain and Douglas 'Pete' Peterson, America’s first Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Most of the original prison was demolished in 1996 to make way for the Hanoi Towers (now Somerset Grand Hanoi) serviced apartment and office complex, but the southernmost corner has been preserved and reopened to the public as a memorial to the revolutionaries who died here in atrocious conditions. Visitors can view the original cells, complete with leg-irons, along with a selection of bilingual (Vietnamese and English) displays illustrating the horrors of life in the prison during the French colonial period.
Conditions were appalling; food was watery soup and bread. Prisoners were variously isolated, starved, beaten, tortured for countless hours and paraded in anti-American propaganda. "It is easy to die but hard to live," a prison guard told one new arrival, "and we will show you just how hard it is to live." The prison is really “A Hell on Earth”.
The Hanoi Hilton was depicted in the eponymous 1987 Hollywood movie The Hanoi Hilton. Hanoi Tower, built on the site of the infamous prison "Hanoi Hilton"; the entrance to the remaining parts of the prison visible in the foreground. By 1996, most of the walls of the Hanoi Hilton had been torn down to make way for new construction. Portions of the walls were retained for historical reasons. The Vietnamese also have bitter memories of the prison, for many communist revolutionaries were kept and tortured there. In 1998, the old front of the prison was painted and restored and the remaining portions of the prison were turned into a tourist site. Some of the cells have been opened and considerable information about Vietnamese prisoners is available. The information about the U.S. prisoners of war is unreliable. There is now a Hilton Hotel in Hanoi, called the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, which opened in 1999. It was built decades after the Vietnam War was over, but Hilton carefully avoided reusing the dreaded name Hanoi Hilton.
Hoa Lo Prison is a historical attraction to many local and foreign visitors. You should pay a visit to the prison to experience the history with your own eyes.

Beautiful of Tam Cốc -Bích Động

Now in this articles, vietnam visa will be introduce with you about Hoa Lư, Tam Cốc and Bích Động
Ninh Binh province is located 100km south of Hanoi. It has evolved into a major travel center in recent years.
Its sudden transformation from sleepy hamlet to tourist magnet has little to do with Ninh Binh itself, but rather with its proximity to nearby Tam Coc (9km), Hoa Lu (12km) and Cuc Phuong National Park (45km). Although it is certainly possible to visit these sights as a day trip from Hanoi, many travelers chose to overnight in Ninh Binh or national park to appreciate the scenery at a more leisure pace.

Hoa Lu
Hoa Lu used to be the capital of Vietnam in 1020 when Dinh Bo Linh took his crown after he defeated 12 regional armies and pacified the country. Mountains, rivers and old citadel make the scenery wonderful. The two temples dedicated to Kings Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh offer tourists a glimpse of Vietnam image in the 10th century.

Tam Coc
Some million years ago, Halong Bay used to connect with these limestone mountains. Vestiges of the ocean still remain through the erosion of the mounts-Caves can offer an adventurous tour to many curious tourists. Boat trips on the rice fields to three mountains with caves are very interesting. Two tourists on one small boat ride through the mountains on the rice fields with lotus flowers. An interesting walk through the rice fields to the temple in memory of the Kings of Tran Dynasty. The bell tower is prominent in the front yard. The temple seems small but the heroes worshipped here used to defeat Kublikhan’s army for three times. Perhaps very few world figures could do the same ever.

Bich Dong
A nice pagoda built quite long time ago is situated at a scenic area. There are many statues of Buddha. The bell tower is well decorated. The incense and the sound of the bell seem to transfer tourists to the holy world of Buddha

Hạ Long Bay

Halong Bay is the jewel in the crown of Vietnam’s travel destinations. One hundred and seventy kilometers from Hanoi, in northeastern Vietnam, Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on earth. The bay is a magical blend of land and sea with thousands of limestone islands and islets in a myriad of shapes and sizes.

The shapes are as varied as the sizes and many of the islands have been given names, derived from their shapes, such as Voi Island (Elephant), Ga Choi Island (Fighting Cock), Qua Chuong Island (Bell) and Mai Nha Island (Roof); incredibly 989 of the islands have been given names. Numerous islands contain caves and grottos, some hidden away for millions of years, but now accessible to explore and marvel at their immensity and spectacular displays of stalactites and stalagmites.

The bay is bordered on the south and southeast by the Gulf of Tonkin, on the north by China and on the west and southwest by Cát Bà Island and encompasses an immense area of 1553 square kilometers.

According to local legend, long ago when the Vietnamese people were fighting foreign invaders, the Gods sent a family of dragons to help them defend the land. The dragons spat out jewels and jade, which transformed into the islands and islets dotting the bay. Their miraculous handiwork formed a great wall blocking the invaders path.

With the invaders repelled and the people safe again, the family of dragons became interested in more peaceful endeavors and decided to stay to enjoy their stunning creation. Hence the name Ha Long (Ha: descending, Long: dragon). The island where the dragon children attended to their mother was named Bai Tu Long (Bai: attend to, Tu: children, Long: dragon) and the place where the dragon children wriggled their tails as they frolicked in the sea was called Bach Long Vi (Bach: white – the color of the foam from the wriggling tails, Long: dragon, Vy: tail).

Whether or not you are a believer of legends you will be lulled into a sense of peace and contentment by the magical and surrealistic seascape of Halong Bay.

The tranquil emerald green waters and the captivating vistas of the seemingly countless jutting limestone mountainous islands will soothe the soul and stimulate the senses. Few places in the world offer a more breath-taking glimpse of the awesome creativity of Mother Nature.

The Halong Bay World Heritage Site is universally recognized for the significance of its exceptional geology and distinctive biodiversity, and the rich culture of the local people adds to the charm and enchantment of cruising the bay.

Halong Bay cruises have been a fovourite pastime for the Vietnamese for centuries. Now it’s your turn. What better way to enjoy this unrivalled destination than aboard an Indochina Sails junk.
